Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift (Overnights) Job Details

The Maintenance Technician is a year-round position in the company’s labor pool performing the task of repair and preventive maintenance duties on various company equipment and buildings. Some weekends required.
  • Receives direction from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Responds to service calls for production related to equipment downtime and improper operation.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned to keep equipment operating efficiency at maximum level.
  • Handles duties requiring the ability to operate, adjust, and maintain equipment in an industrial poultry manufacturing environment.
  • Performs routine monitoring activities on HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, and boiler systems.
  • Collaborates with production, sanitation, warehouse and safety staff to resolve issues throughout production operations and company assets.
  • Performs routine maintenance and fabrication activities such as welding, building repairs, and fleet vehicle repairs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred).
  • Driver’s license and the ability to operate company vehicles in a safe manner is required.
  • English-Language (Reading, Speaking & Writing) proficiency is required; Spanish-Language proficiency is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of team members is required.
  • Basic (high school) reading and math skills is required.
  • Knowledge of production line operations and equipment is strongly preferred; Poultry/food processing a strong plus.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate power tools, hand tools, hoists and other industrial tools required.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Required willingness to use company designated personal protective equipment & follow animal welfare guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Willing and ability to participate on Hazmat team (SCBA training provided).
  • Prior knowledge or ability to learn the following specializations: Ammonia refrigeration; Welding & Fabrication; Boilers; Electrical; PLC/Automation.
  • Ability to have a varied degree range of motion while doing any various line positions. Exposure to hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, back, and fingers fatigue.
  • Ability to work in standing or seated positions for 3-4 hours per session.
  • Ability to work in outdoor or refrigerated/freezer environments.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week including weekends.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be accountable to maintaining punctuality and good attendance for scheduled work hours.
  • Employees must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Relocate before starting work (Required).
  • Schedule: 3rd Shift/Overnights 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
  • Shifts Begin on Sun, M, T, W & Thurs evenings, with rotating weekends.

Pay: From $20.85 to $27.50, additional $1.25 an hour for hours worked during Shift 3
