Production Worker (Seasonal – Starting in April 2025) Job Details

The Production Worker is responsible for handling and preparing turkey products for distribution. This role performs tasks such as slaughtering, cleaning, cutting, and packaging poultry products in compliance with safety and quality standards. Other duties may include weighing, plant housekeeping, boxing, fulfilling quality assurance functions, sanitation duties, material handling, and other processing duties as assigned. Looking for individuals who have flexibility to work various hours Monday through Friday. Expected typical shifts of 5:30 am to 2 pm; 7 a.m. to 3:30 pm, or 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Positions are full-time hours (40/week) during the season. Saturday work may be required at times, especially during the months of October and November.
  • Hanging turkeys on moving shackles.
  • Handling various processing tasks related to evisceration, giblets, grading, weighing turkeys prior to
    injection, weighing, tagging and placing them into correct bags and boxes.
  • Operating and maintaining machinery and equipment used in the processing of poultry products.
  • Ensuring that the products meet the quality standards set by the company.
  • Stacking boxes of fully processed and bagged turkeys.
  • Boxing and palletizing packaged whole turkeys.
  • Boning line: Cutting wings, drums, thighs, breast, tenders, necks.
  • Previous food processing experience is preferred.
  • English and/or Spanish Language proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot defects or abnormalities in poultry products.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors, or lead workers.
  • Good hygiene practices and adherence to food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week; Ability to maintain good attendance for scheduled work hours.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to keep up with a vigorous speed production line.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for periods of 3-4 hours per session.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle repetitive motions, such as the need to grip, grasp, and twist using hands and
    wrists, sometimes with force, in a repetitive manner.
  • Comfortable working with knives and other sharp tools in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Must be able to work in an environment in close proximity to others; exposure to noise, plus some mild nuisance smells and odors.
  • Comfortable working in wet/damp and environments with some temperature fluctuations.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for periods of 3-4 hours per session.

Pay: Hourly pay of $16.25 to $16.60/hour, plus overtime pay rate for worked hours in excess of 40 per week
